Vermont Village Sampler
A beautiful ride through many of Vermont’s small, picturesque, and historic villages including Grafton, “One of America’s top 10 most beautiful destinations”. While in Grafton try Daniels Cafe' in the 1801 tavern for a delicious lite lunch.
After lunch, visit Weston. While there, do not miss the Yankee experience of visiting the world famous “Original Vermont Country Store " . Discover items from a bygone era that can still be used today. Enjoy the best homemade fudge or homemade ice-cream while stepping back to a simpler time.
This tour is a motorcyclist’s delight which also includes traveling through an authentic covered bridge. Many of the towns have "Made in Vermont" craft galleries, museums, wonderful dining and national parks to explore. The
hardest part is finding time to experience everything which only leaves you planning your next trip back to Killington, "The Center of it all".
The total route is approximately 170 miles of stunning views, winding roads and fantastic Vermonters. |
Rock of Ages Tour
This tour features miles of " motorcyclist's dream roads", traveling down little known back country, yet paved, roads, through the center of farms and the greenest rolling countryside you have ever experienced. While it is easy to just explore the Vermont countryside, this tour does have a destination, the famous Rock of Ages Quarry in Graniteville, Vermont.
The quarry originated in 1885 by native Yankee's and immigrants who were looking for a better life. A must see on the tour is the Stone Carvers Cemetery. There you will find the most unusual memorials sculpted with great humor, each one telling a story.
If you dare, on your ride back to Killington, make the time to view and traverse Vermont’s only floating bridge. The bridge, which actually floats although it looks mostly underwater, spans the Sunset Lake in Brookfield Vermont.
Breathtaking vistas, rolling hills and beautiful country farms are visual candy for the motorcyclist which greets your eyes around every turn. You will be talking about this ride until you return to Vermont for next year's rally. |
