KILLINGTON CLASSIC NAMED ONE OF VERMONT'S
TOP 10 FALL EVENTS FOR
2010
KILLINGTON, VT-- The Killington Classic, a popular
September motorcycle touring rally, has been named by the Vermont State
Chamber of Commerce as a Vermont Top 10 Event for fall 2010. The
prestigious designation is in recognition of the Classic's contribution
to the diverse variety of experiences that define Vermont.
"This
really is a terrific tribute to the rally and all the hard work of the
many volunteers who make it possible," said Town of Killington Event
Producer Dariece Kirby-Kline. "We're thrilled that tourism and travel
colleagues around Vermont believe in the value of the Classic as much as
we do. We expect the added exposure this designation brings will help
us grow the event in the coming years."
As a Top Ten winner, the
Killington Classic will be prominently featured in the Vermont Guide for
Summer/Fall, with a circulation of 200,000. The Vermont Chamber
Hospitality Council produces the publication. The guide is the official
fall travel guide for the State of Vermont. The guide will be sent to
inquiries to the state's toll-free vacation telephone number and to
inquiries on the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing website.
"Top
Ten award winners are chosen to represent, as a whole, the variety of
experiences that define Vermont," says the Vermont Chamber of Commerce
Hospitality Council, which each year designates the top 10 events for
summer, winter and autumn in Vermont.
Event winners have access to
the signature Top Ten logo, as well as additional marketing
opportunities. Certificates are awarded to winners in each seasonal
category.
The 2010 Killington Classic will be the ninth year
motorcyclists from throughout the Northeast have traveled to the Town of
Killington for the Thursday-thru-Sunday gathering. The Town of
Killington produces the Classic and marketing efforts for the event
include attending motorcycle shows in Philadelphia, New Jersey, Boston
and New York marketing to Americade attendees with billboards on Route
149 in New York, and through targeted online placement advertisements.
